Linking a Lookup Table

Values in a lookup table may be used in numeric tables to display values in the table or be used in a column, row, or table calculation. Before those values can be used in a numeric table, the lookup table must be linked to the numeric table. This can be accomplished by creating a row or table meta-item of the type Lookup Table. Below is an example of using a lookup table in a row meta-item:

Here is that same example for a table meta-item:

The process is the same whether for a row or table meta-item.

1. Click the appropriate +Add meta-item button.
2. Give the meta-item an appropriate name that is easily recognized.
3. Select Lookup Table from the Type dropdown.
4. Optionally add a unit to the value.
5. Click  the Configure... button.
6. Expand the lookup table group where the lookup table can be found and select the lookup table on the left side. This will display the Keys and Value fields.
7. Select the key or keys needed. If multiple keys are selected then both will be matched to select the row for they value.
8. Optionally, once a key is selected, click the box to the right of the key to filter the values. If any key value or values are selected, only those keys may be looked up.
9. Select the value to be used from the lookup table. Only one value may be selected.
10. If additional values are needed a new meta-item will need to be created. Repeat the steps 1 through 8 until all values are mapped to a meta-item.

Using Values from a Linked Lookup Table

Values from the lookup table may be used like any other meta-item, except the value will change depending on the key or keys selected during a new QA or preset in QA settings. If you watch the GIF in the section above, in that example you can see that the value used is Pelec and which Pelec used from the lookup table depends on the Electrometer serial number and setting keys chosen.

There are no special designation for lookup table meta-items. All table meta-items will start with a 't' and all row meta-items will start with an 'm'.

Here is an example of a new QA. A row calculation named Pelec was added for illustration purposes. The row calculation is simply t1, the table meta-item named Electrometer. Shown below, as the Electrometer dropdown is changed, the value in the Pelec column is changed to match.
